I have always loved camera's. My Dad put an old Pentax in my hand when I was seven years old. It probably weighed the same as I did. Still, I took it everywhere. Never will I forget the excitement of running to the mailbox  to see if the prints had arrived. Tearing into the package, I would go through the pictures with ferocity, living and dying with each result. That old Pentax camera still lives on my bookcase.

My career turned and I spent 10 years in front of the camera acting. I loved it. I learned about lighting from the various DPs that I fortunate to work with. I would sit in rapt attention to any advice they would throw my way.

I spent a few years away from creative pursuits working a steady job to support my young family. The job felt hollow to me, worse yet, I began to feel hollow.

Three years ago I started PrintWork magazine. What an experience!  I organized professional editorial fashion shoots and shot with plenty of great models designers and photographers. This experienced expanded my knowledge and honed my craft.

Most recently, I was blessed enough to work with Jeff Wall. Two weeks of shooting for just one shot! He is one of the worlds most celebrated and talented photographers. The life sized print will be touring art galleries and museums soon..

Happy shooting,

Curtis Bechdholt
